Bring back the death penalty
Here we go again, my rant on the death penalty. Last time I posted about the death penalty I received lots of hate mail, so if you are against it stop reading any further.
Here is the story:
AN HIV-positive man organised sex orgies known as “conversion parties”, where gay men would be recruited and deliberately infected with the deadly disease, a court has heard.
Michael John Neal, 48, is accused of infecting two men with HIV and attempting to infect another 14 in a seven-year sex binge.
The father of five — who was diagnosed with the disease in 2000 — faces a total of 121 charges.
They include attempting to infect a person with a very serious disease, intentionally infecting a person, rape, reckless conduct and possession of child pornography.
According to witnesses, Mr Neal was a regular at several Melbourne gay “sex-on-site” venues including Club 80 and the Gatehouse, both in Collingwood, and was involved in a lifestyle of sexual deviance, rampant drug use and sexual maliciousness.
Melbourne Magistrates’ Court heard he trawled gay clubs and lured men on gay websites to take part in group sex parties at his Port Melbourne and Coburg homes between 2000 and April last year.
The gatherings, referred to as “conversion parties”, involved HIV positive men having unprotected sex with HIV negative men, in an attempt to transmit the disease or “breed” the uninfected, the court heard.
Some of the HIV-negative men were aware they were targets and complied.
Mr Neal is said to have offered drugs, including crystal methamphetamine, before taking them to his “playroom”.
Prosecutor Mark Rochford said Mr Neal had demonstrated an intention to infect other people with HIV.
“He indicated his reasons for doing that is for more people (to be) introduced to a particular group of HIV-infected persons actively participating in unprotected sex,” Mr Rochford said.
One former lover, who met Mr Neal online under the username “filthpig”, told the court he ended their affair after Mr Neal allegedly told him he was “going to toilet blocks to find young boys to breed”.
“When he said ‘breed’ my interpretation was that he was trying to infect these boys with HIV,” the man said.
“He said that he was deliberately infecting boys and that he was actively going out looking for boys to infect.”
The court heard Mr Neal also bragged about “making 75 people pos” and referred to one lover as “Daddy’s little pos boy”.
Department of Human Services chief health officer Dr Robert Hall told the hearing Mr Neal had first come under investigation in 2001, following complaints he had deliberately infected people with HIV.
Over the next five years the DHS issued Mr Neal with three letters and four orders, which included stipulations that he not partake in unprotected sex and that he contact DHS officers daily to provide updates on his situation.
The daily contact clause was scrapped in April 2005 after investigating officers said Mr Neal was making progress, the court heard.
“That was relaxed because, as a result of behaviour change in Mr Neal, we believed we were making some progress,” Dr Hall said.
Mr Neal was arrested in May last year and has since denied deliberately infecting people with HIV.
He told police he had a document from a doctor saying the chances of him infecting others was low.
The preliminary hearing before magistrate Peter Reardon was to continue.
The Department of Human Services should also hang their head in shame for not taking this to the police in 2001. If I was one of the victims I would be taking a class action against the Department of Human Services, they did not fulfill their duty’s in looking after the public.
Michael John Neal should be given the death penalty. How could anyone in their right mind be so sick and evil to pass on that awful disease. I can’t believe this guy is a father of Five, I do hope that his kids have been taken away from him.
